Key Takeaways

BMW has made its way into the Loopit Vehicle Subscription Index in the Top Vehicles by Make list for the first time, with SUVs such as the X5 and X3 in particular being subscribed in the month of February. This adds to the already strong demand for European makes where the Loopit Vehicle Subscription Utilisation (VSU) Index has once again seen the likes of Land Rover, Audi and Mercedes-Benz being a popular subscription choice, occupying eight out of ten spots in the Top Subscribed Luxury Vehicles. In similar news, Cupra makes a return to the Loopit VSU Index lists with the Spanish automaker reclaiming a spot in the Top Vehicles by Make list and the Formentor ranking sixth in Top Subscribed Vehicles over $30,000 USD.

With the work calendar well under way, Loopit is also seeing another surge in subscription demand for commercial vehicles. We are seeing more businesses across many sectors, including the construction industry, opting to take the opportunity of the flexible benefits of subscribing to their business fleets especially as interest rates and operating costs continue to rise. Key highlights of this demand include:

  • Isuzu holds the ninth spot for the second month in a row, with the D-Max making an appearance into the Top 20 Subscribed Vehicle Models list and climbing two spots in the Top Subscribed Commercial Vehicles list
  • Ford Ranger climbs into Top 10 Subscribed Vehicles Models list for the first time
  • The top three spots in our Top Subscribed Vehicles over $USD 30k taken by commercial vehicles - notably the Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-MAX and Mazda BT-50

Other notable mentions include the continued popularity of light SUV models with the newly introduced Toyota Yaris Cross and Corolla Cross being subscribed in high volumes in February.

About the Loopit VSU Index Methodology

The VSU Index measures vehicle utilisation on subscription rather than individual vehicle volume. Due to the inherent flexible nature of car subscription, vehicle utilisation is measured by considering the cumulative number of days in which any given vehicle is utilised within an active subscription during the monthly reporting period. In this way, we equally consider utilisation for individual vehicles being utilised across multiple subscribers, as well as individual vehicles that remain with the same subscriber for longer periods.
